The Missouri Valley Family YMCA is proud to offer free memberships to families of deployed military personnel! A Free Household Membership with Fitness Locker Room and Child Watch (drop in child care), is provided to military families in our community while your loved one is deployed. YMCA’s in our nation are uniquely positioned to serve our military families through supportive community based programs that foster development, family strengthening, and health and well being.
START NOW: Simple steps to get started:
- Stop at the Bismarck YMCA (1608 N Washington Street) with your military ID and deployment orders
- Complete the Military One Source eligibility form
- Complete a YMCA membership application
- Member Desk staff will assign you a Fitness Locker
- Receive a tour and begin using the YMCA!
FAQ’s
- Eligible: Army , Navy, Air Force , Marines – Active Title 10 Reserve / National Guard
- Families of Guard/Reserve personnel who are deployed for a minimum of 6 months are granted free YMCA membership in increments of 6 months.
- Deploying Service member eligible for YMCA membership with family for three months pre and post deployment.
- Families are eligible for the duration of the deployment, not to exceed 18 months (which includes Service member 3 months pre and post deployment). Legal Guardians(must provide documentation) who are caring for children of Deployed Guard / Reserve members since there is not a Legal Spouse to care for these children. TO qualify for the program the person must be a Dependant of the Service Member – (i.e. claimed on medical insurance – taxes )
- Membership is renewable in six month increments contingent upon use (minimum family aggregate use of 8 times per month). Visit the YMCA 8 times per month to be eligible to renew your membership. A visit is defined as a member coming to the YMCA to participate in activities or use the facility. Please electronically track your visits by scanning at the YMCA desk. Each family member counts toward the total of eight visits!
- Not Eligible for this program: Coast Guard, DOD Civilians , Federal Employees, Non Dependants (grandparents, mothers, brothers, sisters, fiancés, uncles, cousins etc unless they are an appointed guardian.)
- YMCA Program fees are not included in this initiative, but member rates apply.
